It is worth spending your day enjoying a beautiful cruise on Mount Athos.
Mount Athos is the third, eastern and enchanting peninsula of Halkidiki, which belongs entirely to the ecclesiastical community. It is the only country in Greece that is dedicated to the worship and prayer of God.
The natural location of the peninsula is admirable. Mount Athos monasteries have a rich collection of well-preserved objects, rare books, ancient documents and works of art of enormous historical value, and Mount Athos has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.
Many boats stop either in Ouranoupoli or in Ammouliani for food, walk, coffee, etc.
